Empowering Families of Children with SEND

Opening Doors

Creating Chances

Changing Lives

We're in the running for the Luton Citizens Fund Community Grant!

On Saturday 21st February, The Chance Hub recently took part in the Luton Citizens Fund Community Decision Day at Denbigh High School.

It was a fantastic experience to meet different organisations and Luton residents, and to share our vision for supporting SEND families and young people in Luton.

We were encouraged by the interest, conversations and support from the community.

Thank you to everyone who stopped to talk, shared their experiences, and showed interest in becoming part of the journey.

We now look forward to hearing the outcome and continuing to build The Chance Hub to support families and create opportunities for young people.

The journey is growing — and the community is at the heart of it.

Thank You!

A big thank you to every parent and carer who have completed our survey.

The worries, challenges and hopes you shared remind us that no family should have to navigate this journey alone. Your voices are helping us shape The Chance Hub so it truly reflects what you need.

If you haven’t had a chance to complete the survey yet – or you’re new to The Chance Hub – you’re very welcome to share your views here.

Every response helps us understand how to support families better.

This is what parents have shared with us so far...

What have been the biggest challenges in finding or accessing support?

"Not being taken seriously when I have raised my concerns about my children."

What do you know now that you wish you had known at the start of your journey?

"Building a positive connection with your child will help immensely along the way."

What are your hopes or goals for your child or young person in the next few years?

"That he gets a job and is able to confidently navigate the world. He is too kind and vulnerable for that now."

What support or information would help you achieve these goals?

"Parent groups, more info and support post-16"

What advice would you give to parents or carers of children who have recently been diagnosed or who are starting their SEND journey?

"The beginning of journey is tough but there is a light at the end of the tunnel, trust yourself, trust your instinct and trust your child. All of the children are unique and they are not just statistics/numbers."
